When a carpenter faces tough times, they often have nowhere to turn. That’s where Carpenters Assistance Resource Program (CARP) comes in. Through charitable donations and fundraising events, we can provide small, financial assistance to those in our brotherhood who need it most, ensuring they can keep moving forward. We’re here for them — on and off the job site.
How we raise funds
Strong communities come together to support their carpenters. Events like chili cook-offs, trap shooting competitions and golf tournaments are some of the ways we rally support and raise the funds needed to help our members when they can’t help themselves.
When to apply
If you or a fellow carpenter is facing a crisis and needs financial assistance, we’re here. Our volunteer committee will guide you through the simple process, assessing your unique situation to determine if you qualify for our help. You’re not alone.
Events
Our events are more than just fundraisers — they’re opportunities for our community to come together. From friendly cook-offs to competitive shooting contests and golf outings, each event helps us support those who build our world when they’re unable to do so themselves.

Real stories. Real help.
"When a minivan made an illegal left turn in front of me in August 2022, the accident was devastating for me physically and financially.
The collision tossed me from my motorcycle. I was left with a back that was broken in two places and torn ligaments in my knee.
Like most people, I can’t afford to be out of work. Many nights, I would lay awake in tears, making myself crazy wondering how and if we would make it through. My wife was a stay-at-home mom caring for our two kids. We didn’t have any outside income.
I heard about the CARP program through my Carpenters Local 1977 union. Without the generosity of those donors, I don’t know how I would have been able to feed my family, let alone keep up with my mortgage and bills while I recovered.
It took three months for my body to heal and be strong enough to return to work. With the help of CARP, I was able to provide for my family while I got back on my feet.
This program truly defines the strength of the union, and how it supports its members and helps to define our brotherhood and sisterhood. In times of dire need, it is a light in the storm.”
